California Nursing Home Injures Patient
According to a lawsuit filed this month, a patient at Windsor County Drive Care Center in Fremont, California suffered life threatening injuries due to the facility neglecting him. The patient was admitted to the facility following a fall that broke his leg, and at the time he suffered from diabetes and nerve damage. According to the lawsuit, the staff harassed him both physically and mentally because they believe he owed the facility money. The suit claims that the staff applied his leg brace so tightly that he developed an ulcer, and they were so forceful with him that they broke his catheter. He left the facility and now continues to suffer from injuries sustained at the facility. Windsor operates more than 35 skilled nursing and assisted living facilities in California and Arizona.
