German Wings Flight 9525 Tragedy

Germanwings Flight 9525 Tragedy
We extend our condolences to the families of the victims of the recent airplane crash in France. Family members of the crash victims who would like to investigate and potentially prosecute the claim against the companies that provide the training and the airlines that hire them to do so, may find that the best way to get all necessary parties into court in the same place would be here in Phoenix, Arizona.

This surprising fact is because many pilots, including the pilots involved in this crash, receive their training here in Arizona.

Germanwings Airlines is owned by Lufthansa. CNN has reported that Lufthansa has no standard psychological testing after hiring. “We at Lufthansa are speechless that this aircraft has been deliberately crashed by the co-pilot,” said Carsten Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa. The copilot, Andreas Lubitz, apparently received some of his training in Arizona. CNN has also reported: “Lufthansa does not have standard psychological testing for pilots once they are hired, Spohr said. The company considers an applicant’s psychological state when hiring, he said.… Spohr said Lufthansa pilots get medical testing but do not undergo regular or routine psychological testing once they are flying. However, the airline does consider an applicant’s psychological state, along with other factors, when hiring pilots, he said.”  Lubitz received his training to fly in Goodyear, Arizona.

At Plattner-Verderame, PC, we have had experience with a number of cases which involved the companies that provide training for these pilots and the airlines who hire the companies to provide the training.  Frank Verderame, a founding partner of the firm, has experience as a licensed pilot and has successfully tried airplane crash cases to verdict.

For anyone who would like to investigate and potentially prosecute the claim against the companies that provide the training or the airlines that hire them to do so, may find that the only way to get those parties into court in the same place would be here in Phoenix, Arizona. Our firm provides a free consultation for the initial contact by anyone who wants to investigate this type of airplane crash.

Again, we extend our deepest sympathies to the families of those victims in this recent tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims.
