Sports Concussions
Sports concussions, from Pop Warner all the way through the NFL and professional sports, are a hot button issue right now because they’re becoming not just more and more common, but we’re seeing them more and more. And, that the concussions are being identified.
As this is happening, different leagues – especially in football, but also in soccer and basketball – are coming up with concussion protocols for not only keeping concussions out of the game, but addressing concussions once they happen. A lot of studies show that it’s not the first concussion that has the extremely long-lasting effects; it’s routine blows to the head that do this.
So, with these new league rules and school rules, it’s important that if your kids are playing sports, from Little League all the way through high school and college, you make sure that the coaches and the athletic departments are following these rules, that there’s trainers at practices and games to address and identify concussions as they happen.

Plattner Verderame, P.C., was founded in April of 1991 when attorneys Richard S. Plattner and Frank Verderame merged their individual practices. They sought to create a firm where injured people would be able to secure high quality legal services from skilled advocates who not only cared about their case, but who also cared about them as people.
