Making a difference for individuals, families, and communities
Founding partner Richard S. Plattner has been practicing law for more than three decades. In 1979, only two years out of law school, he successfully handled a pro bono women’s rights case in front of the Arizona Supreme Court, establishing the right of a married woman to keep her last name. Since that time, he has earned numerous professional accolades for his service to the Phoenix legal community. Richard is a sought-after speaker, accomplished author and unwavering supporter of victim’s rights. He is married to educator Susan Morris and they are the proud parents of two accomplished children. Richard has long been active in the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Phoenix, singing in the choir, serving on committees, and frequently performing as emcee for fundraising events. With his days of performance driving, shooting sports, and whitewater paddling largely behind him, Richard’s focus is on legal work, church, family, and golf.
Partner Frank Verderame serves as a governor on the board of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Throughout his career, Frank has been a featured writer and has guest lectured at a number of prestigious events and institutions. A graduate of University of Arizona College of Law, Frank previously served as Past President of the Arizona Association for Justice and of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has served, pro bono, as a Judge pro tem of the Arizona Court of Appeals and the Maricopa County Superior Court. Frank is the recipient of numerous professional accolades, including an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell and recognition as one of Arizona’s Finest Lawyers. For the past 25 years, he has also volunteered as an Officer and Director of the Scottsdale Boys & Girls Clubs.
Partner Randall A. Hinsch joined our firm in 1992 and quickly became an integral part of our small litigation practice; he became a partner in 2001. A graduate of Pepperdine University School of Law, he is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice. Randall also has licensure with the Ninth Circuit Federal Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court, District of Arizona. The State Bar of Arizona has certified him as a Certified Specialist in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Litigation. In 2011, Randall’s accomplishments were acknowledged when he was selected as one of Arizona’s Finest Lawyers. In addition to helping clients, Randy and his wife, Deb, are active in their support of Lost Our Home Pet Rescue, a no-kill shelter in Tempe, Arizona.
Associate Nick Verderame is the newest addition to our firm, having joined in March of 2016. Prior to graduating cum laude from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law in 2013, Nick was a journalist, serving as an anchor, producer, and investigative reporter. Prior to coming aboard, Nick worked for two of the nation’s largest law firms. He is a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice. His extensive knowledge of sports-related concussions has been highlighted in national publications. In addition to his legal commitments, Nick currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Active 20-30 Club of Phoenix, serving the Valley’s underprivileged children, as well as Echelon PHX, the young professional arm of The Salvation Army.
