Congratulations, Erickson Saye, on Being the 2021 Recipient of the Annual Civil Justice Scholarship!Plattner Verderame, P.C. is proud to announce that Erickson Saye is this year’s recipient of the Plattner Verderame Civil Justice Scholarship! Erickson will be attending Loyola University School of Law in Chicago this fall as a first-year law student and is expected to graduate in 2024.

Erickson Saye earned his B.A. in Political Science (with minors in Religion and Psychology) from Augsburg University.  While he was a student, he worked with the DFL Party in Minnesota to help increase voter turnout, serving as the Field Director for a candidate for Brooklyn Park Mayor as well as a Field Organizer and Action Center Captain for a Get Out the Vote Program sponsored by the DFL.

After that, Erickson worked for the Office of Governor Walz and Lt. Governor Flanagan as the public engagement liaison, where he managed the Office’s internship program and constituent correspondence while also working with multiple agencies and organizations on outreach projects. Eventually, all this work led to a position as the Voter Registration Director for Minnesota Voice, an organization dedicated to increase statewide voter registration efforts. It culminated in the registration of 40,000 Minnesotans.

All of Erickson’s work has been dedicated to upholding the Constitutional rights granted to all Americans. In his case, he worked both in grassroots organizations and within the state government to ensure that people in his state were able to vote – the most basic, and yet most important right granted to all citizens. By attending law school, Erickson will be able to continue his fight for social justice while imbuing our civil justice system with energy, drive, and passion.
