Johnson & Johnson Loses Over $100 Million in Suits for Cancer-Causing Talcum Powder
In the last three months alone, juries have forced Johnson & Johnson to pay well over $100 million in damages to individuals and their families due to a link between cancer and the talcum powder in the company’s powder products. In February, a St. Louis jury awarded $72 million to the family of an Alabama woman who died of ovarian cancer caused by Johnson & Johnson’s baby powder. Now, another St. Louis jury has awarded a woman $55 million for the link. The evidence in the case provided studies conducted since the 1970s that concluded talcum powder has a direct link to ovarian cancer. Moreover, internal documents proved that Johnson & Johnson was aware of such studies.
If you or a loved one consistently used Johnson & Johnson powder products and also developed ovarian cancer, the two may be linked. Please feel free to contact Plattner Verderame, P.C. to assist you in your investigation. We are honest attorneys who spend our days helping honest clients.
