Richard Plattner Named to Best Lawyers in America® for 20th Year
Plattner Verderame, P.C. is proud to announce that firm co-founder Richard S. Plattner has been selected for inclusion in the 2019 Best Lawyers in America list, for his work in Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs. This is Richard’s 20th consecutive year making the list, a significant achievement.
Best Lawyers “is the oldest and most respected peer review publication in the legal profession.” It is now published in 75 different countries, reviewing attorneys who work in 145 different practice areas. Best Lawyers in America was formed in 1983; the 2019 edition selected its honorees from more than 7.8 million evaluations. It recognizes 60,000 attorneys in 145 practice areas across the country – less than 0.08 percent of all nominees.
In order to be eligible for selection, attorneys must first be nominated by another person: a colleague, a client, a member of the judiciary – anyone but themselves. All nominations are analyzed and evaluated by other attorneys recognized by Best Lawyers. If a candidate is recommended by his or her peers, and is founding to be in good standing with his or her Bar, then the firms are informed, and the names of the honorees are published online and in a traditional publication.
About award-winning attorneys Richard S. Plattner
Richard Plattner is a Certified Specialist in Injury and Wrongful Death Litigation, by the State Bar of Arizona Board of Legal Specialization. He is licensed to practice in state and federal courts throughout Arizona, including the Arizona Supreme Court, Federal District Court for the District of Arizona, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Known for his honest advice and a dry (but gentle) sense of humor, Richard handles a wide array of injury claims for the Firm, focusing largely on claims for the catastrophically injured. He has been widely published, is a popular speaker for both legal organizations and conferences, and has repeatedly been asked to testify on behalf of Arizonans in front of the Arizona Legislature. In this, as in all things, Richard is a champion of the people of Arizona.
He has also earned numerous accolades for his work and commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards of the legal profession. He is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, has been named to Best Lawyers in America, Best Lawyers in Arizona and Best Lawyers in Phoenix, and recognized by Southwest Super Lawyers. He maintains a perfect 10/10 on Avvo, and was named the 2017 Phoenix Lawyer of the Year by the American Board of Trial Advocates, Phoenix Chapter. He has also been awarded the Lifetime Advocate for Civil Justice Award by the Arizona Association for Justice, an organization for which he has held many roles, including Past President. He currently sits on their Board of Directors, and earned Life Member status in 2004.
Richard has dedicated his entire life, both professionally and personally, to doing the most amount of good whenever it can be done. That is why we are not surprised that he has been recognized by Best Lawyers once again – though that does not make us any less proud of this achievement. He certainly deserves it.
I have been active in leadership in the Arizona Association for Justice (lawyers who represent injured folks, and formerly known as the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association) since 1985. I served as President in 1991. I was an active participant in battles to protect the Arizona Constitution from the insurance industry and big business interests in 1986, 1990 and 1994.
