Congratulations, Richard Plattner, on Your Lifetime Advocate and Lawyer of the Year Awards! All of us at Plattner Verderame, P.C., are proud to extend our hearty congratulations to our firm’s co-founder, Richard S. Plattner, for being recognized as the 2017 Lawyer of the Year for the American Board of Trial Advocates, Phoenix Chapter. Attorney Plattner was also given the Lifetime Advocate for Civil Justice Award from the Arizona Association for Justice in May 2017.

Richard is one of those rare attorneys who believes in consistent candor, even when it hurts, because it is good for his clients, his practice of law and our judicial system. His dedication to exceptional groups like ABOTA and AzAJ is a testament to how deeply he cares about the civil justice system. We cannot think of an attorney more deserving of such accolades.

About the American Board of Trial Advocates

The American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) is an organization whose members hold the fierce belief that the trial by jury is a precious right that needs to be protected, and that the 7th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is the foundation of justice in this country. ABOTA membership is by introduction only. To be eligible to be invited, a lawyer must have five years of experience as a trial lawyer, tried at least 10 civil jury trials to conclusion, and embrace the values of civility, integrity and professionalism.

ABOTA was founded in 1957, and since then the organization has worked to fulfill its mission to preserve the civil justice system, and its members are attorneys who, “display skill, civility and integrity, to help younger attorneys achieve a higher level of trial advocacy and to educate the public about the vital importance of the Seventh Amendment.” Richard has been a member of ABOTA since 1997, and his award was given with the following inscription: “In recognition of his unfailing commitment throughout a stellar legal career to the principles of professionalism, decency and civility in the legal profession.

About the Arizona Association for Justice
