Well, I’ve been practicing law; now I’m in my 41st year of doing it. What I love about being a personal injury lawyer for plaintiffs is I get to help people. I don’t represent corporations. I only represent people: fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters who’ve been knocked down and who need a hand to get pulled back to their feet, and that’s my job.
When I’m not doing that, I’m usually doing what my wife tells me to do, and the rest of the time I’m deeply involved in our congregation. I serve in a lot of different roles there, and when I get the opportunity I play golf.

I have been active in leadership in the Arizona Association for Justice (lawyers who represent injured folks, and formerly known as the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association) since 1985. I served as President in 1991. I was an active participant in battles to protect the Arizona Constitution from the insurance industry and big business interests in 1986, 1990 and 1994.
